In the Workshop.

Our garage has been turned into a temporary wood shop.

David has been working diligently to build the children a new bunk bed/crib. Today he worked on the drawers that will go under the bottom bed. He nailed the drawers together last night, and today he used a router to bevel the front pieces.

He sanded them,

glued them to the frames,

and put a coat or two of lacquer on the front.

He used birch plywood for the drawer boxes, and red oak for the fronts. The whole bed - everything showing on the outside - is red oak as well. The only thing that isn't red oak are the dowels on the crib railing.

It's going to be just beautiful when it's done!

WOW!!!! Is there anything David can't do?
It's really pretty! The Red Oak is a good color.
