The Pattern He Has Planned

My life is like a weaving
between my God and me;
I do not choose the colors
He worketh steadily.
Ofttimes He weaveth sorrow
and I in foolish pride
Forget He sees the upper,
and I the underside.
Not till the loom is silent
and the shuttles cease to fly
Will God unroll the canvas
and explain the reason why.
The dark threads are as needful
in the skillful Weaver's hand
As the threads of gold and silver
in the pattern He has planned.

Hi Hannah,
I remember you quoting it one time. I took it from a K.I.T. for Kids and copied it into my journal, and from there to here.

Another girl whose blog I visit had written an article about God being the Author of our lives and how important it is to remember that He sees the whole picture. That doesn't sum it up as well as the poem, actually! Anyway, the words of the poem came to mind when I read her article, so here it is!
